The Number One

We listened to Sian's story of the number one.

Using the back of our finger we dragged the snail down to make the number 1.

We then played a counting game to find the flower pot that has only 1 flower in it.

The Bubble Game. We had to find the bubble with the number one in them, the other bubbles had straight lines, curvy lines in them to try and catch us out.

Catch the Snails.

This was the last game we played. The snails were sliding around trying to run away from us, but we caught them all. We only caught snails with a number on their back.

The we went to more.starfall.com and played the number one video.

Hallowe'en

Skeleton Dance

Love this song for Hallowe'en and learning about parts of the body.

Making Hallowe'en pictures using 2-D shapes

We started by painting the orange background, left to dry and then glued shapes to create a witch picture.

These pictures should have been posted back in September :-)

2-D Shapes

We are learning about shapes.
We learnt about squares, triangles, circles and rectangles. We can count the sides of a shape to find out what it is. We watched these videos. We hope you like them.

We went hunting for shapes in this game

Printable Number Line 0 - 10

Free printable Number Line to download and print.

I have found it difficult in the past to find a numberline with the number picture and number in written form so I've made my own. Hope you find it useful.

The Number 4

The Story of 4

Last week we began learning about the Number 4. Today we used a bus template and animals instead of the usual number frame to explore the story of 4

The Animal Bus

I also had the same bus and animals on the Smart board for demonstration, which the class really enjoyed.

Our Resource teacher joined us at this point and straight away saw another excellent use of this template, that is using it to teach and practise positional words. Put the bat on top of the bus, put the bat behind the lion and in front of the ladybird. YOu can make it as easy/difficult as you want.

I have not yet figured out how to add a notebook file, but I may add it as a powerpoint presentation which you can open with Notebook.

The Animal Bus

Of course lots of songs and videoas again on Sesame Street!

More than/Less than

Welcome to my blog!!

I have found some fantastic resources online over the years and thought I'd finally organise them together. Hope you enjoy and find the links helpful.

One of many posts that I have come across that I wanted to share was

Stack, Tell, Spin, & Win  froKRISTEN’S KINDERGARTEN

It is such a simple idea for teaching more than/less than/equal to and looks like great fun. Kristen has many other wonderful resources on her website.
